3M Nexcare Opticlude Orthoptic Eye Patch Regular is a comfortable adhesive eye patch designed for doctor-recommended occlusion therapy.

Occlusion therapy involves covering the preferred or stronger eye for a prescribed period to encourage the weaker eye to work more effectively. It is commonly recommended by ophthalmologists and orthoptists as part of the management of amblyopia, also known as lazy eye, and certain cases of strabismus.

The patch features a highly breathable, conformable backing that fits comfortably around the eye. Its absorbent, non-stick central pad allows the eyelid to move freely without adhering directly to the eye area.

The hypoallergenic adhesive is gentle on sensitive skin, holds the patch securely in place and allows easier removal. Each patch is individually sealed for convenience and protection.

How to Use

Use the eye patch only as directed by an ophthalmologist, orthoptist or another qualified eye-care professional.

1. Wash and dry your hands.
2. Clean and thoroughly dry the skin surrounding the eye.
3. Remove one patch from its individual wrapper.
4. Carefully remove the protective liner without touching the central pad.
5. Gently close both eyes while keeping the facial muscles relaxed.
6. Avoid tightly closing the eyes or creating wrinkles around the eye area.
7. Centre the patch over the eye specified by the healthcare professional.
8. Position the narrow end of the patch towards the nose.
9. Apply the patch smoothly without stretching the patch or pulling the skin.
10. Press gently around the adhesive edges with the fingertips to secure it in place.
11. Wear the patch for the length of time prescribed by the eye-care professional.
12. Replace it according to the treatment schedule or sooner if it becomes wet, dirty, loose or damaged.

How to Remove

Slowly lift one edge of the patch while gently supporting the surrounding skin.

Peel the patch back gradually rather than pulling it away quickly.

Use a new patch for every application. Do not reapply or reuse a removed patch.
