Folicum tablets contain the active ingredient Folic acid also known as vitamin B9 of the vitamin B group. It is reduced in the body to tetrahydrofolate, which is a coenzyme for various metabolic processes. Folic acid is well-absorbed from the gastrointestinal tract. It was found to be safe in breastfeeding where a healthy woman excretes folic acid into breast milk enough to fulfill infant requirements.
